Chocolate Chip Pie

Recipe Yield:
One 9-inch pie

Chocolate Chip Pie is always a head turner! No one really knows what they are going to get when you serve it, and everyone is always pleased after they try it! It is the perfect combination of a pie, a cookie, and a blondie. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and everyone will be in heaven!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 9-inch bottom pie crust (Deya’s Pie Pastry)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/2 cup Deya’s Gluten-Free Cake Flour

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1/3 cup firmly packed dark-brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup butter, melted and cooled

  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 325ºF.

  2. Make a crust of your choice. We recommend Deya’s Pie Pastry.

  3. While the pie crust dough is chilling, prepare filling.

  4. Beat eggs in a large bowl.

  5. Add Deya’s Gluten-Free Cake flour and sugars. Mix well.

  6. Add butter to flour mixture and stir.

  7. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

  8. Pour mixture into prepared pie pastry.

  9. Bake for 1 hour, or until center is firm.

  10. Let the pie cool on a baking rack. Transfer to platter, cut into wedges, and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
