Sugar Cookies

When I was little, my mom made these sugar cookies with us every Christmas. Switch up your cookie cutters and these cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day, Hanukah, Baby Showers, Birthdays and more! We always covered then with bright sugar sprinkles. They are so fun and festive and make any cookie platter more fun!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 cups Deya’s Gluten-Free Cake Flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Colored sugar for sprinkling

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

  2. Add the eggs, Deya’s Gluten-Free Cake Flour, baking powder, and vanilla to the egg mixture and beat until combined.

  3. Chill the dough for 3-4 hours.

  4. Preheat oven to 375ºF

  5. Roll chilled dough between two sheets of wax paper until desired thickness, dust with Deya’s Gluten-Free Cake Flour as needed.

  6. Cut shapes out of dough and move to a silpat covered cookie sheet.

  7. Sprinkle cookies with colored sugar.

  8. Bake for 7-12 minutes depending on the size of your cookie.
