Vanilla Icing

Recipe Yields: Icing for one 9-inch layer cake

You can't find a more scrumptous vanilla buttercream icing than this one! The longer you beat it, the more delicious it gets. It goes beautifully with the Devil's Food Cake.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temp.

  • 6-8 cups confectioners sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add butter, milk, vanilla and 4 cups of sugar together and mix with electric mixer for 5 minutes.

  2. Gradually add the remaining sugar until the icing is thick enough to spread. You may not need all of the sugar.
